I just came across this article, found it interesting so thought to write. It gives an idea of what women try to look for in a car. But as I ended up reading the list, one thing that strike my mind was...even men can ask for it. The article was a consequence of Volvo’s 2004 YCC concept car, which was designed for and by women. It has a hood that only opens for service staffers, washable seat covers and a wastebasket.So it was based on the so called feminin-i-sation of the vehicles.
1. Quality, they cannot compromise upon this.
2. Safety, attention to seat belts, air bags, stability control and crash ratings,anchors for child seats.
3. Convenience is the key word when it comes to maintenance. This is evident from the hood of Volvo 2004 YCC.
4. Comfort : Pedals, rear hatches and seats need to be appropriate for their heights.
5. Details: Special compartments and hooks to for purses can be added surprises.
6. Nail friendly: This means hood, rear hatch, or seats,should be easy-on-the-hands and should not break their nails.
7. Storage: There should ample of space to carry all her belongings like cosmetics etc. apart from bags and purses. The YCC also has a wastepaper basket.
8. Cleanliness : What’s bad in it? Volvo YCC’s answer: Easy-clean paint that’s similar to the coating on a non-stick pan — dirt finds it very hard to cling on in the first place and washes off very easily.
9. Style: Is it more to ask this?
10.Value : Yes, we want best for the value. “The price-value equation really speaks to women,” Warner said.
I don’t think women are asking for something that’s not possible or something that can be regarded as useless.
