With improvement in women’s financial standing, another trend that’s coming to fore is a swell in their wallets that is projecting them as powerful consumers.
Master Card International’s stats show that in Malaysia, the money spent by women as per their free will is supposed to shoot up to US$5 billion by 2014, which in 42 million more than what they spent in 2004. And the power of women consumer is evident in the Malaysian market specially in the lifestyle sector including automotive, apparels and travel sectors.
It seems that with a change in the levels of education and with the big move made by Asian females in the corporate sector, one can clearly notice the shift in women’s lifestyle. They are moving out of their homes and are posing as major influence on the market forces and the manufacturers are realising the importance of the women consumer and are trying really hard to trap these potential buyers with innovative women centric measures.
