Recent London based study by a magazine called Management Today claims that women in large numbers are making huge profits by starting their own businesses. For the first time, nearly one in four persons who appear in the annual list of Top 100 Entrepreneurs is women.

25% of women are included each year in the list of the magazine.

If this development continues, very soon women would be becoming the UK’s most successful entrepreneurs over the next few decades.

More than one million women in Britain are now operating their own companies.

Philip Beresford, who assembled the list, said mounting numbers of women are ‘invading traditional macho territory’.

For instance, Elena Ambrosiadou, who set up one of the first hedge funds in London in 1991 when she was just 33, ranked fifth in the Top 100 list. Her total fortune is estimated at 140 million pounds.
