Taking cue from the popularity of Facebook, Hollywood celebs are increasingly turning towards Twitter.Whatever happened to twitter hiring staff to look after celebrities, many celebrities seem to be managing it on their own. Like Ashton Kutcher, just became the most followed tweeter on Twitter beating CNN. But, politicians are never too far behind, being celebrities in themselves. President Obama, along with other political biggies, used it as an effective campaigning tool. Now, Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin plans to get a new twitter account. Just like Hollywood actors, politicians no longer want to be dependent on press to communicate with the public. Sarah Palin, has been using twitter as a cathartic means to talk about her family issues, and most recently about her plans to discontinue as governor of Alaska. Palin has around 1, 17,000. Other female politicians having found popularity on twitter include Democrats Jennifer Granholm and Kathleen Sebelius. Obama’s campaign has been a big lesson for all the political bigwigs, so expect more female politicians on twitter.
