Ms Katherine Legge is the first woman driver to compete full-time in the Champ Car World Series after last year gaining recognition as the first woman ever to win an Open Wheel race in the US.
She now 25, started motorcar racing in 1990 as a hobby, but is now a professional racing driver.
According to the Australian, Ms Legge only wants recognition for her results, rather than her minority status as a woman in the motor racing industry. She says, ‘I never really think about the gender thing. I’ve been accepted as a driver but I’m still a rookie and I have to earn their respect’.

This event boosts my respect for women. Truly sexual discrimination is a thing of the past. Now i can say that everybody is free to show their talents at its best.
One thing that i must be thankful of is my BMW Performance Parts. It also made me win in a local race.
