
Irrespective of the fact that women are giving their utmost at their workplaces...they are being paid less. Many of us turn up with lighter pay packages than our husbands despite working on similar patterns.
In accordance with an article in Guardian, women earn 17.2% less than men and this figure shoots up to 42% when we talk about the top level management ... is this what is expected 30 years after the introduction of Equal Pay Act?
Though this pay gap has reduced since then, but the truth remains that if it continues to reduce this pace only then ... I’m worried to say that, we’ll take around 80 long years to come equal to men.
On one hand we are shouting that women must work towards their retirement and investment plans and on the other is this pay gap. I think there’s a link between the two ... God knows when the concerned people will understand this.
