In an attempt to cater this small but important section of society German brewers have came out with ‘health beers’ that assert to have calming effects on the mind along with preventing cancer.

One such beer is Karla beer, which happens to be a blend of hops and herbs and has just 1% of alcohol content. It comes in a curvy transparent bottle and has ingredients like folic acid, lecithin soya extract and vitamins which “add to the body’s well-being”.

Another product in the same line is Xan, which has qualities to prevent cancer as it is high in xanthohumol content. Xanthohumol an anti-oxidant is also believed to relieve heart problems, osteoporosis and even malaria.
