sopiahAccording to the president of the Brunei Women’s Business Council, Major (R) Hjh Sopiah Haji Husaini, 47, women entrepreneurs are lagging behind because they don’t have enough knowledge and professional skills in the field of information and communication technologies.

Elaborating further, she said that women could become instrumental in country’s economic progress if they are provided with the required skills and knowledge.

However, the government is providing them with the training programs but it doesn’t seem enough to solve the purpose. She further said that in the case, the programs should be made on a large scale. Moreover, the government should make an effort to develop market access to women as well.
