The most acclaimed french designer brand Daniel Hechter who has transformed the french fashion world, now planning to venture into Indian retail market to lure native women. Earlier, the brand intended at the fashion savvy men was launched in India in 2009 by Indus League Clothing. Sujatha Nandan, Chief Brand Manager for Daniel Hechter in India under the Bangalore-based Indus League Clothing Company explains, “Since the time Daniel Hechter started operations in India, it has successfully produced highly creative collections and reflected a fashionable lifestyle not just aimed at the social elite.” This targets to be rupees one billion brand in the next couple of years.
The brand’s products offer classic shirts and limited edition shirts made from imported Italian fabrics, T-shirts ranging between Rs 1,299 to Rs 1,999 and sweat shirts priced between Rs 2199 to Rs 2699 etc. The entire lifestyle range is further supplemented by accessories like belts, ties, socks, cufflinks, stoles, mufflers and caps costing between Rs 999 to Rs 6,999. The brand’s collection is being retailed through six EBOs and 44 shop-in-shops. In the next two years, Hechtre also planning to open at least 10 EBOs and expand its path to 10 other shop-in-shops which will take in key MBOs and national chain stores it would have.
