Mary Ellen Iskenderian has replaced Nancy Barry as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of Women’s World Banking (WWB).

Ms. Iskenderian has an experience of twenty years as she held several authoritative positions at the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group (IFC).

As the new CEO of WWB, her area of focus will be to meet with the requirements of women with low income. She would team up with the network leaders and will work in promoting WWB’s growth.

WWB’s chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Mercedes Canalda has shown full confidence in her abilities and is looking forward to work under her headship.

She has worked in numerous financial institutions and served on several boards of directors. Presently, she serves on the Board of Directors and Investment Committee of Shore Cap International, a leading equity and loan fund for microfinance.

Ms. Iskenderian holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management, and a BS in International Economics from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.

She views her new position in WWB as an excited opportunity to come into ‘the group of talented global leaders’.
