Don’t get surprised if you come across a Pink cab driven by a women in the streets of Carlisle...’coz these are WOMEN-ONLY cabs that are going to be launched in few weeks with a view to make women feel more comfortable and of course safe.
The Pink cabs are not taxies but chauffeur-driven limousines that are pre-booked and paid for. Passengers will receive text messages as the car arrives and will also be given a password for extra security.
Pink Ladies the brainchild of two moms from Warrington is already a hit in Warrington, Lancashire and London and soon will be launched in Blackpool followed by Manchester and Plymouth.
I wish a service like this was there in India as well...for traveling alone in cabs is really tough and highly unsafe for women in Indian Cities.

I love this idea. I’ve been in some messed up cabs with some messed up men cab drivers and this makes my heart sing.
I think this is a wonderful, refreshing idea!!! Having been around NYC in the disgusting yellow cabs, trying to avoid eye contact with the drivers themselves, A ”Ladies Only” cab would be just the thing.... hope this concept makes it to New York!!
