1234postinterviewIf your interview did not go as per satisfaction, do not lose heart, who knows your follow- up after the interview might create the required mark.

Moreover, if the employer had planned to give you the job, your follow- up would create a goodwill gesture that would be instrumental in your success when you’ll join the company.

The basic tools of follow up are:

1. E- mail- it’ll save your as well the employers time as in today’s hi-tech era, more and more people go in for e- mail or internet facilities to stay connected rather than the traditionalists who prefer paper work.
However, e- mail has its own good points; it is easy & quick to reply. It is used when quick action matters. If the job is related to communications, e- mail would be the best option.

2. Letters- no matter how your interview goes do write a thank you letter within a gap of 24 hours.

3. Phone calls- as I’ve said before it is the hi- tech era and the people in authority most likely suffer from shortage of time. They work according to the time management plan. So you may give them a follow up call after the interview provided that your call must inculcate least but important words.

4. References- what people think about you is primary than what you actually think about your self. So the best way to go about this is to collect the references and fill them in on your interview. Remember that the references made should be of some person in authority that may include your school/ college Principle and so on.
