I got to read about this recent happening where a woman got severely burned while she was drying clothes and the dryer explode. Reading this I thought dryer is a common gadget in every home and its one of the most dangerous one. It can very easily erupt in flames when a safety mechanism goes wrong.

Dryer Safety expert Jack Sanderson says, “If your clothes aren’t getting dry the way they used to with your dryer, you probably have a problem developing and it may be one that could lead to a fire.”

In such a scene it becomes all the more important to be aware of the safety measures that should be taken while using a dryer.

Some of them are :
1.Never dry anything with oil on it or other fuel.
2.Hire a duct cleaning service.
3.Don’t leave the dryer on while away.
4.Use metal venting.
5.Make it a point to clean the lint filter before and after every load...do not mis the back too.
6.Make sure you replace plastic or vinyl exhaust hoses with ones that are rigid or flexible metal venting.
7.Do not dry anything that is flammable as flammable substances give off vapors that could ignite or explode.
8.Last but not least do not forget to read the user’s manual before operating the dryer.
