Skipper Denise Caffari based in Portsmouth, UK started as a PE teacher before joining the Mike Golding Yacht Racing, the place where she got what she always desired...to experience the deep waters. She did experience the deep waters when she left for the Global Challenge fleet on 21st, November 2005 and became the first woman to sail alone, on violent waters and unpredictable weather conditions.
