A recent survey by Mara Wasburn, an assistant professor of organization leadership and supervision in Purdue’s College of Technology shows that new female professionals find a lot of discrimination in their workplace with regards to a job hike, respect for their ideas, lower salaries, they are not trusted with important assignments and allotment of low-profile jobs.
Wasburn provides a solution to such discrimination in the following words:
Stay in communication with your supervisors and others at the company. Ask for challenging assignments. Make sure your senior colleagues understand your goals, as well as what you can bring to the company. It may be difficult to reach out to someone and risk being rebuffed, but the alternative is to risk being ignored, and you can ill afford that.
If a women has certain capacities then she needs to explore it and make it visible for their supervisors to notice, as a Company cannot compromise with talent if it wants to grow in future, it hardly matters even if it comes from a women.
