Wendy Wasserstein - the very determined, well-educated and outstandingly “liberated” writer died on Monday, 30th January at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. The lady was all of 55 and suffered some complications due lymphoma for some months.
Ms. Wasserstein, tasted great commercial success with her plays, which include some of the very fine works like “Uncommon Women and Others”, “The Heidi Chronicles”, “The Sisters Rosensweig” and “Third,” Her final play.
Towards the end, one can say that the lady gifted us with a true, wise, ironic, and an intelligent vision of the lives led by of middle-class women amid the feminist revolution of late 60s and 70s that somewhere projected how women live today.
