If yes, then you are not alone in this...most of the women today feel insecure because of other females working in the organization. In workplace, women are becoming their own worst enemies.
Nan Mooney, the author of, “I Can’t Believe She Did That! Why Women Betray Other Women at Work,” has laid down certain reasons that lead to this kind of Female rivalry.
1. Few top positions open to women.
Despite the fact that women hold more than 50% of the management and professional positions, the hard but true fact is that they comprise of less than 2 percent of “Fortune” 500 and “Fortune” 1000 CEOs, according to Catalyst.
Most of the industries are largely dominated by men and these factors make the competition fierce among females...and they end-up back-stabbing each other to rise higher on the corporate ladder.
2. A girl has to be Nice
The traditional ‘nice’ syndrome as per which a woman is ought to behave nicely and cooperate with every one around her. She competes really hard but pretends as if she is not, while men are quite open and direct or rather vigorous when it comes to competing.
This kind of a dual attitude that women carry all long makes things tough for them. Sometimes the too nice behavior also becomes detrimental to their advancement.
3. Communication Style
Women have a different communication style, they try to form their personal experiences and intimate details the basis of the PR at office. But this something worse that a woman can do to her career.
Most of the times they are not direct in what they intend to say or want...and this creates a communication gap or a number of misconceptions with in the organizations.
