A British study has revealed that longevity post liver transplant is more in women in comparison to their male counterparts. The study conducted on 2,700 liver transplants found that female patients lived an average 4.5 years longer than men.

The average life expectancy rate among female liver transplant patients was 26 years as against the male patients who survived 18 years after getting the transplant.

While, for normal healthy population the life expectancy rate is 31 years for women and 27 years for men.
