Recent news from Scotland asserts that women are outnumbering men in the field of law.

According to the Law Society of Scotland, two-thirds of entrants to law courses north of the Border are female. This also foretells that very soon the profession will be dominated by the women folk.

Liz Campbell, the head of education and training for the Law Society, said ‘We can say that by 2010, the typical Scottish lawyer will be under 30, female and educated in a state school.’

Elish Angiolini QC
, Scotland’s first female Solicitor General, was pleased with the increase in women lawyers and said it was something to be welcomed.
