Men would have to curb their wayward attitude, otherwise, they’ll have to pay for that! Hey people, I ain’t saying this, rather, it’s a proposal set by the Chinese lawmakers.
The tourism establishment are planning to structure a novel concept, according to which, they would create a ‘women’s town’, where men would be reprimanded for showing defiance.
Will anyone really care enough about this idea to visit this town?
According to a tourism spokesperson, the 2.3-square-km Longshuihu village in Shuangqiao district of Chongqing municipality, or ‘women’s town,’ is based on the local traditional concept of ‘women rule and men obey.’
The task was initiated in the end of 2005 and is likely to take three to five more years to finish.
Well, for me it doesn’t sound cool at all, rather the idea is quite absurd. The proposal of attracting tourists wouldn’t seem feasible enough to generate tourism. Even the motto, ‘women never make mistakes, and men can never refuse women’s requests’, sounds weird. I am totally against the chauvinism interspersed in societies but steps like these wouldn’t root out the unwanted approach.
No doubt, its a novel concept, but has that fetish undertone to it. What do you think?
