An increased number of Japanese women are staying away from pregnancy out of the fear of loosing their job when they come back. A situation like this has led to a sharp fall in country’s birthrate. The government is planning to take adequate steps in order to reverse the situation and encourage career-oriented women to have children.
This is because in Japan, job requires time investment from mothers, which makes tough for them to deal with the two facets of their life. This has called for the companies to review their policies and make them favorable for women when they join back. They are also being asked to rehire employees and increase the salary structure, so that women feel financially safe when they come back post pregnancy.
