No stress is good. And if you are stressed out because of your workplace, then mind that you are at a higher risk of succumbing to heart disease and diabetes, a study says.
The researchers have found a connection between the extent of stress experienced by people in their jobs and the levels of metabolic syndrome symptoms. The study also revealed that persistent workplace stress reduces natural toughness of the body, thereby disturbing the body’s physiological balance. The study was a result of research on 10,000 civil servants.
The best part of all this according to Professor Peter Weissberg, medical director of the British Heart Foundation is that by making an effort to improve our lifestyle particularly exercising and loosing weight and avoiding things like the cigarette, one can easily avoid or reverse the metabolic syndrome.
